When I stripped down my O-200 for overhaul, the oil pressure line was a port on the passenger side of the crankcase. 

yet it seems like most folks now refer to add the sensor to the tap location on the oil filter adaptor. 

does it make a difference?

im guessing original is at a lower pressure point than post pil pump?

You want the sensor after it goes through the engine.  If not you'll get an artificial high pressure as it's just after the pump at the oil filter.  

Thank you for the response, Glenn; sorry for the delay in responding. It's been a rough month; haven't touched the plane since 12/14 just because of constant family scheduling conflicts.

Your response makes perfect sense; I'm keeping it as I have it, with the sensor on the side of the case and NOT on the oil filter housing.
