I have been flying and tweaking as much as possible lately so I have been strangely silent but I'm still here. I have 11.6 hours on the Papa Goose now and the engine temps are settling down somewhat. The spreads of the CHTs and the EGTs are still too wide but I've installed a smoothbore silicone elbow from the airbox to the carb. I put a vertical divider vane in it just as I had in the original scat tube but I haven't flown with the new smooth elbow yet. More on that as I get some experience with it.

One fly in the ointment is that I suspect that I have a bad connection on CHT sensor #4. It is erratic and the temps form that sensor aresuspect at best. I'm more focussed on improving the overall temperature situation right now so the diagnosis regarding #4 is on the back burner. Similarly, an intermittent failure of the left fuel tank gauge (comes and goes) is not a high priority... I stick the tank before takeoff and I am not fortunate enough to have long enough flights to empty the tank so far. I usually get to fly for no more than an hour or two at a time so the accuracy of the tank gauge is not important yet as it would be on a XC flight.

I haven't done much work on establishing the V speeds yet and won't unitl I am happy with the engine and it is happy with its job, but I gotta say it's been fun so far.

Thanks for the update!
I'm surely not the motor expert but it would amaze me if any cylinder could actually make those wild swings in the short intervals that we see on the panel readout. But hey, I guess anything is possible... I built two airplanes and neither one has crashed yet!

I am anxious to see what, if any benefit I get from the new smoothbore intake hose.
