<p>Thanks Shay. Yes I meant when used as the vent for engine operations. Did you cut the end of the vent hose square or at an angle? Do you have any oil mist on the bottom of the aircraft coming from the vent line?</p>

<p>I thought you meant the initial purging of the system for a minute there, the title might be misleading.</p>
<p>The hose from the tank vent protrudes just below the bottom of the cowling into the slipstream. There should also be a hole in the side of the hose inside the cowling a few inches from the bottom just in case the exposed end of the hose freezes over. </p>
<p>It’s in the Rotax Installation Manual 79-00-00 around about page 10.</p>

<p>The hose from the tank vent protrudes just below the bottom of the cowling into the slipstream. There should also be a hole in the side of the hose inside the cowling a few inches from the bottom just in case the exposed end of the hose freezes over. </p>
