I made this plenum for my firewall mounted oil cooler.  Measures angles and offset,  then mocked up in solid works followed by 3d printing.  Then sprayed with gel coat, and laid up glass after mold prep.  Fits like a glove.

Make sure it’s easily removable so you can add and subtract aluminum tape over the radiator fins :)

I made one for my 701, it sits on a shelf in the hangar. I found during flight test that if I installed it, the engine would not reach the Rotax recommended operating temperature.  I fly without it and still need a strip of tape over the oil cooler, even in the Summer.

Thanks!  It is attached with nut plates for easy removal.  The IO-375 has a vernatherm, so low operating temps should bypass the oil cooler.  The 801 is going on amphibs, so I anticipate the extra cooling capacity will come in handy. It will add some cooling drag, but I think the trade off is wise....  time will tell.
