I purchased the Aero Classic Oil Cooler to replace the UL stock cooler. Would anyone who has installed the AC please send some pics of how you attached it?

Scott, there are a few photos on my page showing the install. I have the 10 row cooler that you can purchase from Ray Lawrence or ACS. https://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/eppages/aeroclassiccooler.php (item 8000081) Now is the time to do it, not after you paint the cowl as there is some significant trimming of the cowling for fitment! Besides being a much more robust cooler, it did help with lowering my oil temps also. HTH

Scott, sorry, I don’t remember the exact dimensions but it must be about twice the thickness of the cooler UL sent. It does take more work and time to mount it and, depending on how you do it, may require quite a bit of cowl work. Also, I had to have Steve at Aircraft Specialties make me new hoses - he was very helpful with ordering the hoses. I wish I had pictures of the final installation, but don’t. Also, I had to have Steve at Aircraft Specialties make me new hoses - he was very helpful with ordering the hoses. I wish I had pictures of the final installation, but don’t. I will include a pic when I first started to mount the cooler on the original rubber mounting studs, but it wasn’t going to work and didn’t use them. I know others have changed it so hoping you get some ideas and pics from them.26EE145C-68EC-4260-9F28-00622E796108.jpeg
Do you have the dimensions on…tag:zenith.aero,2019-09-09:2606393:Comment:6913122019-09-09T01:39:32.432ZScott Millerhttps://zenith.aero/profile/ScottMiller

Do you have the dimensions on the 13 row. Looked at several websites and none of them list the dimensions. Is it about the same size as the stock UL oil cooler? Any issues with mounting it?

My experience with changing to the Aero-Classic 13 row has been good. Last tear I had oil temps running consistently above 218F and as high as 230 on a 90 degree plus day. I purchased the new cooler from Ray and finally installed it at my first condition inspection this Spring and have not had an oil temp over 204 all summer, mostly running in the low 190’s.

I didn’t expect that much difference, but it has me convinced.
