Looks good to me! I'm using the same "el-cheapo" nicopress tool as well. Just make sure you check the squeeze with a go-no-go gauge. Here's how mine turned out...

I use slighty "oversize" clear heat shrink over the wire and the nicopress sleeve. It keeps the wire ends from biting back, but it doesn't trap moisture. And since it's clear, you can detect corrosion too.

Heat shrink tubing very bad idea, traps moisture and prevents you from seeing any rust forming, cable will just separate one day......

A tip for the future... if you leave the steel cable bare extended about 1/4" from the heat shrink tubing end you can monitor this "extended" length for any movement / slippage visually with reference to the heat shrink tubing end.

My 2 cents

Yep... I did the right order... I guess I was expecting a much more pronounced "squish area" that resembled the drawings. Certainly seems rock-solid to me... at least as strong as the cable itself.

Use a pair of calipers to check the diameter of the finished crimp to ensure it matches the specs. (should be on the instruction paper that came with the tool)
