Zihad,

I think your advisors are probably correct, it would be prudent, it seems, to add a little stiffening plate to stop twisting forces. Any thickness, like the same thickness as the aircraft skin should help, or a bit thicker.

ok. understood. so no additional plate except the shim from the company.

Our EAA advisor here advised us to put extra backing plate for the whip vhf comm antenna that we have (AV10), thats why i asked what is your thickness of the backing plate.

thanks Dr.

Terry,

Thanks for the info. I will take a look at this system. I've not gotten much time on my airplane yet, hope to do more this next week.

Attached is a pulley I built. This idea I first got from Sebastian Dewhurst who is a member. He had a good article on the modification which is what I based my changes on and hopefully I have attached for you.

Terry,

If you have a picture of the pulley, could you send it? I have about 12 hours on my 750 and have had no problems with the elevator. I had a SEVERE left wing drop on my first flight because I did not have the bungee installed. I installed it and solved some of the problem, but had to adjust the rudder cables by shortening the right and lengthening the left to really get if fixed. Now I am flying pretty level, but am still going to re-build my left cable to allow more…

The tension seems OK on the ground - we'll see how it goes when I fly. I also have a pulley set up behind the access hole to assist with tension issues on the elevator cables when using the ailerons.

Zihad,

I think I may have misunderstood your question? Did you want to know about my VHF antenna mount or the mount that holds my GPS and Skyview antennas? My original comment was about my GPS mount and that is about 100 thousandths thick. My VHF antenna uses a shim provided by the company.

Terry,

Nice job on the shelf. I mounted mine under the seat, so a bit different, but it works well. I noticed that you attached your rudder bungee so it moves with the cable? Any tension issues? I just looped mine over the cable, since I have a one piece cable.

This is the mount I made for Skyview in my 701. Haven't finished fastening the wires yet. I leveled the airframe then built the shelf level to it.
