We have two unused Mid-Continent instruments.  These are electronic connected Gyros, one attitude indicator and one turn coordinator.  We obviously aren't using these in our zenith and wanted to know the best place to maybe sell these. They are pretty high dollar instruments when bought online from our findings. Attached are pictures.

You're right that they were expensive units when new. With the rise of solid state electronic instruments that cost the same or less and are more reliable, you will be lucky to get anything near what they cost new, in my opinion. These may be unused by they have no warranty in effect and there are some nifty brand new ones around for the same or less money.

Also, I note from the stickers that only the attitude indicator is Mid Continent, the turn coordinator is S-Tec, a very good brand.

Finally, I note from the stickers that only the attitude indicator will work in a twelve volt airplane, the S-Tec unit is 28 volt only while the Attitide Indicator will accept anything from 10 to 32 volts. Make sure whoever buys them from you is not expecting it work in a twelve volt airplane.

I hope you find them a good home.

Yes, we knew that after looking at what technology is out there now, hoever, some people are partial to the older technology.  And yes the turn indicator is made by S-Tec for Mid- Continent, it was a contract that the two companies had.  We don't expect to get near what they want for them or for an overhauled one, but we do not have a use for them.

And actually bob both are marked for 28v so it can’t be used with 14

Actually, as I read the sticker, the attitude indicator is 10-32 volts DC so is ok for pretty much any plane. The 28 volt specific is for the internal lighting in the instrument. If one does not plan to light one's panel that would be a non-factor, just don't connect any power to that pin of the connector.. If one does plan to light one's panel all that is needed is replace the 28 volt bulb with a 12 volt bulb and change the marked voltage for the ligiht circuit on the sticker. I could be wrong, but that's what I see.........

My recommendation for selling would be on Vans RV "VAF Forum". You can join the forum by answering a simple RV question that you can get the answer from the web. Though I don't mention I'm flying a Zenith...

Why Vans? Because:

- they're all experimental

- many, many of these owners/builders want quality IFR capable equipment - and don't mind spending money for it

-  they have 26,000 members

- a very active classified section

- once you sign up there is a treasure trove of information that becomes available, much of which is applicable to any experimental aircraft

- you're likely to get the highest possible price there.

$350 for the Turn Coordinator and $500 for the Attitude.

Jared if interested I would pay $400 for the electronic horizon.

Sorry I just sold the Horizon this morning just hadn't got around to updating the post.

I will make a deal on the turn coordinator if anyone is interested.
