I’m thinking since any fuse panel should identify each fuse, and Aircraft Engravers can cut D shaped holes, I’m going to drill round holes In my panel and use the engraved overlay from AE to both prevent the fuse holder from rotating and identify what system the fuse protects.

Thanks Don, I’ll look around there.

Shay I’ll be a day VFR flier only and that’s the kind of feedback that gives me confidence in moving forward with a fuse solution.

Ken, great info, I assume the dual power feed is so you could wire several circuits direct to the battery...sort of essential buss??

Jim if you look on mouser or digikey you should be able to find those fuse holders that require a round hole

It seems like a good idea to have fuses accessible in flight, but, in fifteen years of flying my 701 I’ve never had a fuse blow.

if one did blow in flight I probably wouldn’t replace it until I’d landed and figured out what the problem was.

I have a simple fuse block with automotive type fuses mounted on cockpit side of firewall.

Best of luck.

Thanks for the picture Ken. I wonder if a small fuse block could be mounted somewhere other than in the panel.

could you drill a row of 1/2" holes and then rivet a flat strip on the back side of the panel to mate with the flat portion of the fuse-holder ?
