Gil, it was an issue when I was building. I talked with the factory, asked about putting the aileron trim in the right wing. I think my logic was valid, otherwise you'll read that those with the aileron trim in the left wing need maximum deflection.

The big improvement came from flying level. I don't have an EFIS, didn't want to spend the money on a glass cockpit, so I sat in the airplane, measured my eyeball height, then used some foil tape to mark the propeller. That became my…

The big improvement came from flying level. I don't have an EFIS, didn't want to spend the money on a glass cockpit, so I sat in the airplane, measured my eyeball height, then used some foil tape to mark the propeller. That became my reference to the horizon, and I used elevator trim to dial in that attitude.

Then I added a fixed trim tab to the elevator so that I didn't need to use elevator trim. Same could be done with the right aileron, add a fixed trim tab once you've established level flight.

My custom FWF is lighter than the stock FWF, my empty weight was 686 pounds after the wing spar upgrade. I'd rather be light and need some trim.

Joe,

It did have the heavy right wing tendency, but I found that was exacerbated by flying nose high. I still need some trim, but that issue existed when I was building, so I installed the trim on the right wing. My logic was that the trim tab would be in cleaner air when raised, that lowered the right aileron, raising the wing.

I had it listed higher, but no bites. Life has changed, tired of paying hanger rent. I'm to the point of disassembling and parting out.

Sorry my bad. 20,000.00. Any unusual handling issues or other concerns? I ask because I had a 601 xl with the jab engine and a very heavy right wing that required almost full trim to level out during flight. Otherwise the 601 was a joy to fly. Thanks. Joe
