The FAA issued its final medical rule today allowing general aviation pilots to fly without holding an FAA medical certificate as long as they meet certain requirements.  For more information see: (https://www.faa.gov/news/updates/?newsId=87125).

The FAA has issued a new advisory circular that does a good job of explaining the new rule and has a draft version of the Comprehensive Medical Examination Checklist (CMEC) as well as a thorough FAQ in the appendices.
