I'm searching the best soap and the best wax (or both in the same bottle ?) to clean and restore the paint on my CH-701; I looked in the catalog (like Spruce...) and there is a lot of stuff...and all seems to be the best !....Can you help me my friends ?
I just had my plane painted in February. The painter recommended ordinary carnuba wax after a good hand wash. I use the dry rag method for my antique cars, and so my airplane. Get a bucket of water and use a wash rag. Wash a small area and dry right away. No hoses, no drips, no water spots. Environmentally friendly and actually more effective cleaning. Sometimes I use no soap, but when I do I use the gently stuff sold at the auto parts store like Meguire's. I use ZBest wax you can buy at any county fair. It goes on well. You wipe it off while still wet. I use old baby diapers for the wax job. I did a topside wax last week and things are looking good this week. Easy to get the bugs off, too.
