I have been a flight instructor for over 40 years . I am available for flying most of the time.
would be glad to fly with you and let you get the feel of the plane. It has a Lyc.0235 and only 88 hours sence new, call me at 704-664-2273 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org
Paul, Thanks for responding. I have a 701 and I am sure that they fly quite differently from the 601's. Do you happen to know anyone with a 701 within say 100 miles from Raleigh? Thanks however for the offer. Vann 919-612-2635.
Hey Vann, my name's Rolf Grandstaff and I'm tied down at JNX w/ an older ('86 kit built in '91) 701 but like Ernest Jesse, I'm still a student pilot. At this point, I couldn't fly w/ you but would like to when I get my license. I'm basically just getting ready for my check ride at this point. I've been to 5W5 a few times and can see it from the air as well on my way to and from Sanford (TTA) which is where my instructor is. I'll have to take my check ride in the Allegro as my 701 is the pre-2001 model w/ a gross weight of 960 lbs. My plane weighs about 600 lbs. empty which only gives me a useful load of about 360 lbs., not really enough for full fuel and an adult passenger.
Hope to meet you and your airplane someday though. I'd really like to see it. Talk to you later...
Good to see another 701 owner out there, and so close too. You are probably taking lessons at Doug and Betey Hempstead's training facility at Sanford. Doug is a friend of mine, Great guy. The Allegro is a nice plane also. Tends to float compared to the 701 however. Guess you know that. There is also another 701 at Moore County. Hopefully, we will all get together someday. Mine is about ready to take to the sky. Waiting on my airworthiness. My cell is 919-612-2635 and my email is email@example.com. Call anytime. Fly safe, Vann
