What size bolts go in the joint of the wing struts on a CH 701? Plans show a solid wing strut.

Older CH701 plan, page 7V10, shows the upper and lower parts of both front and rear struts joining together with 3 AN3-15A. 12 of them are required on each strut joint. Newer 701's don't use joint struts.

Thanks! Our 701 is 7 years old, but the plans don't show a jointed strut.

You should check if the plans are actually for your airplane. You can check the plan serial number with Zenith. Optimistically, the builder might just get the old struts from friends who changed for the newer type. What's the maximum gross weight or take off weight of your plane?

If you post it in the CH 701 forum, more 701 builders will respond.

We bought our kit from Zenith in 2006 and the plans with the serial number came with the kit.

So, you have an authentic set of plans. How come you don't build one piece strut? It's lighter than 2 piece one.
