Has somebody on this forum installed a BMW 1200 GS engine(motorcycle engine) into a CH 750 or

CH 650

I am currently building a CH 750 and intend installing a BMW using the German Takeoff

reduction gearbox and engine management system.

I need information on the firewall forward mountings

Kind regards

Hi Andrzej

Do you fly using a BMW engine

What is your opinion of this setup

Kind tegards

Ernest

Hi Ernest

Look for Deon information first . I my opinion engine 1150 is wallet proof , but You can find some problems with this setup

1. Is a cooling problems engine need well done cowling

2. Gear box - in my setup i have to change every 200 hour bearings after 400 Hours i chanage a tooth weels in gear ..

I check two gears ratio 1:3 and 1:2,75 better is 1:2,75 with my PESZKE prop . flying like R912 80hp My engine is model 1150 R 85hp  duble ignition max torque at 5200 RPM max hp at 6800 rpm  Take off RPM 6400 Criuse RPM 5600 - 5800

Now i am using BMW in Stoll in this moment 640 hours in flight book and no problems with engine but some with reduction unit .
