What 'yard store' are you guys talking about?

Here in Canada we have home depot, lowes, crappy tire, princess auto and none have angle attachments or threaded bits (except for some very big angle attachments). None of them have wire gauge drill bits either, I get mine from kbctools or brown tools online.

I bought a pancake attachment over a year ago from brown tools and have been using it very heavily. I bought the Tight-Spot angle and more threaded bits recently and am thinking the pneumatic version is likely justified. I think these parts should be listed in the tools recommendations when you buy the full kit, I dont think there are any alternatives for the pancake and 90 degree threaded attachments.

Yep, Avery Tools right across town in Ft. Worth (across town in Dallas is still 1.5 hrs and I'm in Wylie) .... $49 threaded bits are about $3 ea. However, I can't find a #20, but the #19 is 0.005" oversize.

I would go with the one from the yardstore. I bought one of the cheaper ones and it did not last. Stripped the gears in it after about 2 months. Have had the yardstore one ever since with no problems. It has paid for itself many times over especially in frustration time.

Hi,
I got an air angle drill by central pneumatic.. Also got a canadian tire electric angle drill which is bigger. the smaller air drivem angle drill is really good for tight spots but you need to pass the air tube with it.
check them out ... Both are not that expensive.
Regards,

My advice is to spend the money on the real thing. On a previous build I tried the attachments to the drill and they made real sloppy holes...might've just been the brand I had, I don't know. I finally bit the bullet and bought the real thing, with threaded bits..it has become my favorite tool. The holes come out nicely round and you can get in some amazingly tight spaces...which cannot be done with any of the attachments. I bought mine at the Yard Store, worth every penny:…
