<p>Interesting and thanks for bumping up this discussion, I definitely won’t buy any airplane engine without a proper log, big bore kit or not, although that in of itself won’t guarantee a thing. I look forward to hearing from anyone who has owned and flown a 912 with a big bore kit installed. </p>

<p>I also follow Trent, and believe he later said the cause was a rod failure, that they could not explain other than it was a defective part. I believe he going with a new 915, lucky guy.</p>

<p>I follow a guy on you tube, his name is Trent Palmer. He had a Kitfox with a 912 with a big bore kit with a few other mods done to it and it blew up on him. Luckily he had an open spot to land under him. He did say he didn't have much history on the motor but he did say, never again. Food for thought. </p>
