This aircraft was shown at Aeroshell Plaza in Oshkosh in 2011 with designer Chris Heintz and builders Leroy Wheeler and Dennis Hutchinson. This is a plans only built aircraft. It was described by Matt Heintz as "an excellent example of an HD model". N601LH is powered with a Subaru EA81/Stratus redrive/Warp Drive 3 bladed prop. It is equipped with a Garmin GNC250XL, GRT EIS, KT76A, voice activated intercom with PTT switches on center Y-stick, Aeroled landing light, all nav lights are LED, rotating beacon is also LED. Electric elevator trim tab is recessed into the elevator just like the certified airplanes have. The rudder pedals have been upgraded to the 601XL design, the fuselage side and bottom skins have had the diagonal braces installed, and the cockpit area has had MILSPEC sound deadening material installed. There is an oil cooler and coolant driven cabin heat box. The radiator is located under the cockpit with a Larry MacFarland P51 style fiberglass air intake scoop, with exit side louvers. The wheel pants are also Larry MacFarland creations. A Koger sunshade is installed on the side opening canopy. Cruise 95-100 mph, fuel burn 4 gph or less. Airworthiness Certificate received 9/18/2009. TTAF/E currently 610, but increasing, as the aircraft is flown regularly. N601LH is based at Indianapolis Regional Airport (KMQJ).
